Mbare, la banlieue animée de Harare
Avant l'indépendance, Mbare s'appelait Harare, ce qui signifie l'endroit où les gens ne s'endorment pas. De nombreux dirigeants d'aujourd'hui ont vécu à un moment ou à un autre dans cette banlieue, et une bonne partie d'entre eux y sont nés et y ont grandi. Aujourd'hui, comme 90 % de la population est au chômage, la plupart des personnes qui y vivent survivent grâce à l'économie informelle. Mbare compte trois grands marchés (nourriture, vêtements, déchets...) où l'argent coule à flot tous les jours. Decouvir Mbare, c'est une veritable plongee dans univers unique et vibrant. La rencontre d'un peuple qui survit grace a l'economie informelle, seule poumon financier du pays.
Mbare, the vibrant suburb of Harare
Before independence, Mbare was called Harare, meaning the place where people do not go to sleep. Many of today?s prominent leaders have at one time or another lived in the suburb, with a good measure of them having been born and bred there. Today, because 90% of the population is unemployed, most of the people living there survive from the informal economy. Mbare has three bigs market (food, clothes, scraps..) where cash flow everyday. Discovering Mbare is a real immersion in a unique and vibrant universe. The meeting of a people who survive thanks to the informal economy, the only financial lung of the country.
